Encintas, CA "Streetscape" ProjectBelow are some examples of the Encinitas, CA "Streetscape" CommuniCan project. The City of Encinitas underwent a mjor renovation of the entire downtown area including sponsorship fund-matching for 16 CommuniCan works placed in prominent intersections and gathering places. Each CommuniCan holds a 36-gallon trash receptacle and features four tile murals created by local high school students. These kiln-fired tiles are glued and grouted and last a lifetime without fading, cracking, scratching, or loosening.
North County "Coastal CommuniCan" ProjectThe Coastal CommuniCan project worked with K-12 students in the Encinitas, CA school district as well as local artists to create tiles and murals for 25 CommuniCans which are installed at 8 popular beaches and coastal parks in Encinitas.
"Essence of Encinitas" Project, City Hall, Encintas, CALocal artsist of all ages created 12" x 12" ceramic tile murals which were fired and affixed on 30 bollards (concrete columns) outside the Encinitas City Hall complex along with a number of CommuniCans. A total of 35 permanent works are installed.
