What’s Environmental Sculpture?

Our Environmental Sculpture or “EnviroSculpt” class is designed to give students hands on experience in sculpture while teaching them about environmental issues.

Students are shown various works of environental sculpture done by other students and given a lecture on art and the environment. They are then instructed to gather discarded objects for use in a sculpture of their own. In a three stage process kids are led through small personal projects up to larger collabroative projects. At each stage they practice techniques of expression, arrangment, assembly, texturing, and painting.

This program has proven to have an immediate and lasting impact on the students causing them to see the trash that their family generates in a whole new light. Students often report involving the rest of the family in their project.

You can donate a four-session class in Environmental Sculpture including supplies to a class of 20 students for $500.
